REGISTER FOR PIANO CLASSES
PIANO TRANSITIONS
Three 10 week semesters and one 8 week summer semester of 45-min classes including singing, chanting, moving , responding to musical patterns, creating at the keyboard, and playing short pieces. Activities are developmentally appropriate for Preschoolers and Kindergarten age children. Classes help students organize the sounds of music using syllables, imitate musical patterns accurately, sing in tune, move with the beat, and develop beginning piano technique and keyboard skills using ROTE instruction. Piano book with CD will be available.
PIANO LESSONS
Three 10 week semesters of lessons and one 8 week summer semester ( 30- or 45 min private or 45-min peer group settings) train musicians who can hear what they play and play what they hear . Lesson activities apply what research says about how children best learn music and encourage students to listen, think, move, sing and PLAY. Students entering FIRST grade and above enroll in piano lessons.
GROUP LESSONS
Seven Saturday monthly group lessons during Fall. Winter, Spring semester and 3- 6 Wednesday group lessons during Summer semester give students an additional opportunity in an optimal diverse peer group setting to develop their musicianship. Instruction individualized within the group setting.
